From 1998. Most of the sounds on this are coming from my Yamaha DX 100. This was heavily influenced by the Visage song "Fade to Grey", which I have always loved. I should mention that on most of these songs, the microphone I used was a Realistic PZM microphone. On this track, I recall using two mics at the same time for my lead vocal. It was the PZM and a Realistic/Shure hybrid handheld. Using both mics gave me a very unique sound on the vocal. With the main melody, I am trying to emulate a theremin. I simply played with the modulation wheel on my DX 100. That female voice speaking in French was taken from a mix tape that a DJ friend in France had sent to me. I should also mention that usually, the PZM microphone (which is flat) was mounted on the back of the door to my bedroom. It was nailed to the door, level to my mouth, so I would sing standing up, aiming my voice directly at the mic on the back of the door.
