This album was released in 2008. It was inspired by minimal synth music, as well as lo-fi and experimental. It is probably one of the darkest and weirdest albums I have done. It is very raw and unpolished. I released this album on the same day that I released another album, "Damariscotta". That album was very twee, upbeat and bubble gum. For some reason, I thought people would definitely prefer "Damariscotta" over "Europe", but much to my surprise, the opposite happened. People seemed much more drawn to the edginess and darkness of "Europe". I guess there's a lesson to be learned there. This was inspired by Martin Dupont, Thomas Leer and Robert Rental, Rational Youth, Front 242, Talking Heads, Joy Division and Visage. I would also like to thank my friend Franck from France, who sent me tons of minimal wave tapes over the years. This music had a direct influence on what I was doing on "Europe".
